Partnering with other women-owned and sustainable businesses is our mantra at Sohza. We share women’s stories to support women globally and empower the women in our community. We Dream in Colour is a unique handmade jewelry line that incorporates nature inspired textures on each design.

The founder of this Black-owned business, Jade Gedeon, is influenced by her artistic background and growing up in diverse cultures. She was raised in Trinidad and Tobago and has made her home in several different countries before settling in Massachusetts. Gedeon’s love for travel, art, and nature encouraged her to open her own jewelry line in 2002 (We Dream in Colour), featuring shapes and motifs inspired by myriad art and design forms . The goal is to craft beautiful eccentric jewelry inspired by the nature around us, Gedeon even paints with seawater to add textures and bold colors to these repurposed classics.

Every piece is assembled carefully by an all-women team located in their Salem, Massachusetts studio. The handmade line focuses on sustainability, as the female artisans repurpose materials, practice eco-friendly methods in the production process, and only work with socially conscious suppliers. Creating sustainable products means they are made to withstand the tale of time, each jewelry piece is created to be wearable for years, and with over 700 unique styles of jewelry, there is a piece of art for everyone.

Some of our favorite pieces we carry from We Dream in Colour are displayed in our Dragonfly Collection. The Dragonfly earrings and necklaces are handcrafted with a natural patina finish, leaving a rustic and unique look to each piece. At Sohza we value the dragonfly, this ancient being symbolizes connections of strength, courage, and happiness within ourselves.
