There is no community like a community of women. We rally around our vulnerable or hurting sisters; our sisters who are birthing new life, new ideas, new ministries; our sisters who are under attack. We close ranks and we have each others’ backs.
Just like elephants. See, in the wild, when a mama elephant is under attack or giving birth, all the other female elephants in the herd back around her in formation. They close ranks so that the delivering mama cannot even be seen in the middle. They stomp and kick up dirt and soil to throw attackers off the scent and basically act like a pack of badasses.
No one is getting through those 40 tons of female elephant aggression.
Let this story — and this necklace I designed with ABLE — serve as a reminder that you are never alone. You will always have sisters around you who are kicking up dirt for you."
